Talk: First Welsh Woman on Everest

thumbnailClimbing the world’s highest mountain requires a lot more than just the technical skills and the right clothing. For Tori James it was an 18 month challenge which tested her to the limit both physically and mentally. Her experience has relevance to all of us whether at work or at home.

Not only will you gain an insight into life in the 'death zone' but Tori shares her passion for achieving things against the odds, she explains exactly how she turned a goal into reality, overcame numerous setbacks and used a variety of mental techniques to retain the positivity and self-belief that ultimately lead to her success.

BSES Expeditions 75th Anniversary

In 2007 the British Schools Exploring Society (BSES) will celebrate 75 years of youth exploration. Founded in 1932 by a member of Scot’s Antarctic Expedition, the Society is one of the longest running youth organisations of its kind.

As members of BSES Expeditions, Ben and Tori are making their summit attempt in 2007 the pinnacle of the BSES 75th anniversary 75 summits celebrations. They hope to plant a BSES Burgee on the summit of Everest. Visit www.bses.org.uk for more information.
