Base Camp Trekkers

The Everest 2007 Team are delighted to have the support of a small group of people who will accompany the team all the way to Everest Base Camp. The trek to Base Camp is without doubt one of the most famous in the world. It takes you into the heart of the Nepalese Himalaya.

The trek has awe-inspiring views of many of the world's highest and most beautiful mountains as well as going to the actual site of Everest base camp, below the tumbling Khumbu Icefall.

Trekking in with the Everest 2007 team, the itineraries have been carefully designed to ensure that everyone has adequate time to acclimatise comfortably, thereby enjoying the trekking experience to the full. In doing this they will also be supporting our chosen charity, the Prince's Trust.

We'd like to introduce them to you, and here's what they have to say...

Brian Gilbart-Denham

Brian Gilbart-Denham

Reason for trekking to Everest Base Camp: To walk where I've never walked, to see what I've never seen, to do what I've never done.

My message to the Everest 2007 team: Good luck - I'm behind you all the way - up to the Base Camp!

Fiona Wrench

Fiona Wrench

Aged 28 from Johannesburg, South Africa

Reason for trekking to Everest Base Camp: A couple of years ago I attended a presentation by someone who completed the trek and since that day it has been a goal for me to walk the path to Base Camp. Everest 2007 is a unique, once in a lifetime opportunity for me to fulfil that dream.

My message to the Everest 2007 team: Instead of giving yourselves reasons why you can't, give yourselves reasons why you can. I'm proud to join your team!

Sophie Bainbridge

Reason for trekking to Everest Base Camp: when John sent a round-robin email I said yes because I felt that it was an amazing opportunity to do something I have always wanted to do (although now I am beginning to panic).

My message to the Everest 2007 team: Good luck and P.M.A. (positive mental attitude)
